"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." Matthew 5:14-15

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46

Tool - Word Nerd Blog Hop

For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. So the body is not one part but many. If the foot should say, “Because I’m not a hand, I don’t belong to the body,” in spite of this it still belongs to the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I’m not an eye, I don’t belong to the body,” in spite of this it still belongs to the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has placed each one of the parts in one body just as He wanted. And if they were all the same part, where would the body be?  Now there are many parts, yet one body. 1 Corinthians 12:12-18

There are many tools in a tool box - screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, wrenches, etc. My husband would be much better at identifying all the tools than I am. :) But each of these devices has a particular job that they perform. You wouldn't use a hammer to screw or a pliers to hammer a nail.

In the same way, God has a specific job that only you can do. You are one of the tools in God's toolbox. Each instrument is needed. Neither is better than the other. It takes all of us working together to do the work that He has for us. But you have to get out of the toolbox to do the job that God has given you.

What tool are you? Are you still lying in the toolbox, or are you using the gifts that God gave you to reach others with the Good News of Christ?

I can tell you don't use tools. :) Often I've resorted to using the back end of a screw driver as a hammer. :)Sometimes I think that's what we do as humans/
Christians we attempt to fill a place meant to be used by another and the results work --sort of. It is much better if we use the tools we are given and stay out of the way of those who are equipped. Says the writer who sometimes remodels...
